I am honored to be a part of the team at Orangevale Adventist School. I aim to achieve the OAS Mission and Objective of showing children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve; and our objective to provide an atmosphere conducive to young people's spiritual, social, and academic growth and development.
From my earliest years as an elementary student, I experienced firsthand the profound impact teachers can have by meeting students where they are in life. Their demonstration of Christ's love through both words and actions left an indelible mark on me. Inspired by their Christian leadership, I aspired to embody this love in my own journey as an educator.
I grew up in Louisiana, swimming with the alligators! I graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a Major, of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Minor in Early Childhood Development. I earned a Master of Science in Education from The Johns Hopkins University.
While at Southwestern I met my husband Tim, we enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors. I have taught for twenty-two years in Adventist Education. My career is guided by Matthew 22:36-40, where Jesus teaches about the greatest commandment, I am committed to loving God wholeheartedly and loving my neighbor as myself. As a teacher, I not only challenge my students to excel academically but also strive to exemplify a Christian life through my lessons, interactions, and classroom environment. My greatest joy comes from witnessing students grow not only in knowledge but also in faith.
As part of the Orangevale team, I’m committed to Adventist Education, inspiring and guiding students on their academic and spiritual journeys, while making a positive impact in our community and beyond.
